Traditionally — which in LTYM Twin Cities terms means since 2013 — LTYM Twin Cities is always the Wednesday and/or Thursday the week before Mother's Day at 7:PM.
The May show is a Mother’s Day celebration that has brand new storytellers telling their motherhood stories — the good, the bad, the ugly, the sad, the hilarious, and the golden — live on stage at the Riverview Theatre. Yearly, we audition approximately 80 women for 12-13 spots for the May show.
The Riverview will continue to be the home for all LTYM shows, but now there are TWO times of year to mark your calendar for Listen to Your Mother Twin Cities shows …
… MAY, (sometimes) AUGUST, and DECEMBER!
MAY
Tickets for our May Mother’s Day show are available in March. Please join our email list below to be the first to know when these tickets are for sale.
AUGUST
After a two year pandemic-induced May show break in 2020 and 2021, we felt like the only way back into the storytelling fold was with a pandemic themed show.
So throwing our tried-and-true May show playbook out the door, in August 2021 we had a summer show! With a cast made up of alumni! At the gorgeous outdoor pavilion at Centennial Lakes! It was glorious!
And while it was definitely a one-time event, the idea of a theme-based alumni summer show was born and we fell in love with it!
When we have a summer show, it will be at the Riverview Theatre, on the last Saturday in August, in the morning. The theme will change yearly and be announced right after the 4th of July. This is also when the August show tickets will go on sale.
So get on our email list below to be the first to know when the show theme is announced and the tickets go on sale.
DECEMBER
On December 5th 2018 we hosted our first ever Annual Holiday Alumni Show. In five years, we had never cast an alumni! So this new show was a chance to recast the women you love, reading brand new stories, all holiday themed.
We’re over the moon for this annual show and hope to see you at it. This show will always be the Wednesday and/or Thursday the week after Thanksgiving.
Tickets for this show will go on sale in October. Stay on our email list so that you’ll be the first to know when these tickets go on sale.

The mission of each LTYM show is to give voice to motherhood – the good, the bad, the ugly, the sad, the hilarious, the golden, and of course, the beautiful – in the form of original stories read live on-stage by their authors.
We're beyond thrilled to host the 16th LTYM Twin Cities show and kick off the 11th year of storytelling in the Twin Cities!
